Welcome to my little virtual space in the World Wide Web. Relax, pour a glass of your favourite drink and feel free to wander through as much as you like. No, contrary to what people may say, I didn't catch myself in the usual, average race for another meaningless, lookalike homepage from the average geek. The Internet is perhaps the best communications and informations sharing medium we could have ever desidered, and because of this I've been finally sold on building a very little personal space, where other people could collect (more or less) useful informations from my (rather limited) personal experience, while, at the same time, hoping for some sort of generous contribute from anyone else willing to improve my uncertain culture :-)
In order to maximize navigation pleasure, I built a very basic site without any of those pesky HTML Browser-specific deviations, all too easily "sold" as standards. Consider it eternally under construction, come back often and check for updates! I really do prefer Freeware and GNU/GPL Internet tools, not only for the priviledge of using freely a lot of very good software, but because I believe that it's in the freeware world, uncommitted to the standard market logic, where the true standards for exchanging informations are supported to their fullest. My favourite browser (although not the most frequently used, due to all those crappy sites out there that require Internet Explorer to be seen properly!) is the excellent Mozilla Firefox, which I always use to check my HTML work for correctness, but I also occasionally use Google Chrome, Safari and Opera. All the site has been done, and is maintained with, the excellent HTML editor 1st page 2000.
The latest update is fully XHTML 1.0 compliant and relies heavily on Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) and pixel-sized text, aiming to equalize appearance of the website among different browsers on different operating systems. The preferred font is "Verdana", Linux users can install the "msttcorefonts" package, which installs Verdana and many other general-purpose Windows fonts. Without this package, the pages default to the SansSerif font which gives a neat appearance anyway. HTML code has been tested also on Ubuntu and Debian installations using Mozilla Firefox, Iceweasel, Epiphany and Opera.
Effective from November 18th 2004, This site is powered by the fabulous Apache, without doubt one of the most widely known and appreciated Web Servers worldwide.
